Connor Clayton, a Los Angeles-based photographer, is occupying a unique creative space by blending elements of his southern background with the vibrancy of the West Coast.

Originally from a small town in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Tennessee, Connor's childhood juxtaposed traditional Southern values with personal struggles of identity — an identity that upset tradition and expectations in the South.

As he navigated his formative years as a queer artist, he was forced to quickly reconcile this otherness, surrounded by brothers in a conservative environment — an experience that shaped a strong work ethic and the unrelenting determination and resilience that define his work today.

From Southern Roots to LA Life

At 14, Connor moved to Los Angeles, where he would finally and fully embrace his true self and pursue his creative dreams. Like many artists exploring the city of dreams, Connor was inspired to follow his creative impulse.

Connor spent over a decade working as an actor and model, developing a deep understanding and appreciation for photography and beauty created in still images. Despite his success in entertainment, Connor found himself unfulfilled and yearning for more creative control.

His transition from talent to talent management to photographer was fueled by artistic frustration and a desire for further self-expression. Connor's continued pursuit of personal and professional growth was leading him behind the camera, where he would create some of our favorite erotic images.

What Would Dolly Do?

The defining moment of Connor's shift into photography came during ongoing introspection amidst some professional turmoil. One day, driving home from his job as a talent manager, he was overwhelmed with career dissatisfaction and fear about his future.

At that moment, a song by Dolly Parton, "Try," rang out from the car speakers as though the lyrics were speaking directly to him. In that instant, Connor realized he could no longer let fear hold him back.

Taking the advice of his fellow Tennessean, he decided to follow Dolly's recommendation and pursue his passion for photography, beginning his journey behind the lens. Now, Connor has become one of today's most identifiable artists, capturing the male form in some incredible images.
