Photographer Mark Alan has spent decades refining his craft. He began his creative journey studying photography in California, initially focusing on editorial, portrait, and fashion photography. However, it wasn't long before he found his true passion: capturing the male form.

Over the years, Mark developed a unique style, balancing naturalism with a subtle editorial edge — never imposing unattainable ideals onto his subjects. Instead, he seeks to reveal their humanity, often capturing moments of quiet sensuality. His work has been widely published and exhibited internationally, including group shows in Madrid and Berlin.

Though Mark is known for his still images, his creativity extends far beyond photography. He explores various artistic mediums, including music, video, painting, and writing. His compositions have been featured in television programs in the US and UK, and his ambition is to one day produce an immersive exhibition that combines both his visual and auditory worlds.

In 2023, as part of his continued pursuit of creative variance, Mark self-published his first book, "Wolf Pack," which chronicles his early years behind the lens. He also created two limited-edition zines, "Happy Trail" and "Pulp," before launching his latest publication, "Inspiró."

I spoke with Mark about his most recent project, which celebrates homoerotic art. Below is our conversation, where he shares the inspiration behind the zine, curating queer art, and what readers can expect from future issues.
